TOULMIN MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE

Professional Children’s School announces matching gift challenge from The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation to The Dr. James Dawson Fund for Financial Aid.

New York, NY - April 23, 2020
Professional Children’s School is very grateful to announce that The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation has stepped forward with a matching gift challenge to inspire others to support our current and prospective students during this critical time. The Toulmin Foundation will match every dollar contributed to The Dr. James Dawson Fund for Financial Aid up to $50,000, beginning right now until the challenge is met.

“We are honored and grateful to receive this critical support to ensure that our students have access to robust need-based financial aid during this particularly challenging period” says Head of School James Dawson. “The cancellation of the school’s annual Spring Gala, which benefits the Dawson Fund for Financial Aid, was a major setback, which The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation’s generosity will help defray. We thank The Toulmin Foundation for its leadership at this critical time.”

Since 2015, The Dawson Fund has provided 25 financial aid awards, providing critical support for students who otherwise would have been unable to attend PCS. Your donation will help PCS provide dozens of future financial aid awards, which will give actors, dancers, musicians, athletes, and others the life-changing opportunity for a PCS education.

“Virginia Toulmin was an admirable woman, a successful pharmaceutical business owner, and a prominent philanthropist. She was a strong supporter of educational institutions, and although she never visited Professional Children’s School, Virginia would have loved the educational experience the students of PCS are afforded. A place where her love for children and her passion for the arts comes together and is brought to life,” says William S. Villafranco, Co-Trustee of The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation. “We are so very proud to be offering this matching grant as we understand how critical Professional Children’s School and their graduates are to the many higher educational arts institutions in New York City, and beyond."
