Full-Time Science Teacher (Middle and Upper School) Job Description

(1/7/20) Professional Children’s School provides a rigorous college-preparatory program with flexibility for professional and pre-professional students.  We serve approximately 200 Middle and Upper School students who come from multiple states and numerous foreign countries, and whose interests include dance, music, acting, modeling, athletics, art, and entrepreneurship.  Our students are serious about their academic studies while they pursue their professions outside of school.  PCS is a bring your own device school and we utilize technology including a learning management system to support our students, particularly when their professions make it impossible to attend class.

Professional Children’s School seeks to hire a full-time science teacher to teach a Middle School course covering biology and chemistry concepts, a science course appropriate for English Language Learners, an Upper School Environmental Science course, and an Upper School Advanced Biology course.  Due to the professional schedules of our students, candidates should understand the need to be flexible, including providing robust educational materials for when students cannot be in class.  We are looking for a teacher who is adept at using technology for both learning and teaching purposes, is comfortable collaborating with colleagues, and has an appreciation for the developmental differences between Middle and Upper School students.
