Lindsey began her professional career as a performer in New York City at the age of 15. Lindsey attended the Professional Children's School (class of ’85) and appeared in dozens of national television and radio commercials as a young performer. Throughout her 30-year career, Lindsey has performed at Lincoln Center, the Pierre Hotel, Broadway, and Off-Broadway productions, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Aspects of Love" and "Sunset Boulevard." Lindsey is also a professional chef, entrepreneur, and chef instructor. She has taught cooking classes online privately and as a guest instructor for the Professional Children's School. Lindsey is currently busy building her online cuisine brand "LindseyLicious” while completing her degree in health supportive culinary arts at the Institute of Culinary Education in Battery Park, NYC.

TOPIC: How a Dancer Becomes a Writer: A PCS Alumni’s New Book Offers a Keyhole View of a Life in Dance
Moderated by Leeza Behar '92
Gavin Larsen ‘92 received her professional dance training at the School of American Ballet, the Pacific Northwest Ballet School and the New York School of Ballet. In 1992, she joined Pacific Northwest Ballet leaving the company in 1999 to join the Alberta Ballet, and, thereafter, the Oregon Ballet Theatre as a principal dancer. She retired from performing in 2010 to focus on teaching, coaching and writing about dance. Her memoir, Being a Ballerina: The Power and Perfection of a Dancing Life, was published by the University Press of Florida in 2021 and can be purchased.
Leeza Behar ‘92 performed with the NYCB in numerous ballets as a student at the School of American Ballet and after graduating from PCS, landed a dream job at Ballet Mississippi working under the artistic directorship of the inimitable Fernando Bujones (PCS, class of 1972). After retiring and with an interest in remaining in the arts but on the corporate side, she later worked for Blue Note Records and ultimately The RCA Music Group.
NOVEMBER 11, 2020 - PCS PRESENTS - Songs from the Spirit - The Journey of an Artwork:
PCS alumnus and trustee Silas Farley '12 shared about the creative process of Songs from the Spirit, the site-specific ballet he choreographed for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2019.
Silas Farley '12 is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. He is an alumnus of Professional Children’s School (PCS), where he graduated in 2012 with the Jeffrey Lawrence Award for Excellence in all Subjects. He joined the PCS Board as an Alumnus Trustee in 2019. From 2012-2020, Mr. Farley danced with New York City Ballet. He now serves as The Armstrong Visiting Artist in Residence in Ballet in The Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas.

The first PCS Presents webinar of the 2020-2021 school year shared an open conversation about racism and inequality with two members from our alumni community.

Sam Akins ‘14 is a professional ballet dancer from the United States. He trained at the School of American Ballet for four years before joining the Los Angeles Ballet. He then danced as a Principal Dancer with the Alabama Ballet, before moving to Australia. Akins works to inspire and pave the way for black and brown dancers not only in the United States but within the Australian dance community.
Barrett Doss ‘07 is an actress currently starring on ABC's Station 19. She graduated from PCS in 2007 before continuing on to study musical theater at NYU and feels very lucky to be able to call herself a working actress. Some favorite past credits include Groundhog Day (Original Broadway Cast), Grey's Anatomy, 30 Rock, and Girls.
MAY 28, 2020 - PCS PRESENTS - LIFE AFTER PCS:
The Alumni Association Council hosted the inaugural event for the new digital series, PCS Presents. A panel of alumni were moderated by Alumni Association Council President Victoria Grempel '12 as they discussed "Life After PCS" via a Zoom webinar. The evening covered how a PCS education prepared the group for their current careers, which have changed since they were young professionals.

Several generations of alumni joined us in NYC for a holiday celebration with classmates, family, and festive treats. Hosted by the Alumni Association Council, proceeds from ticket sales went to the Alumni Financial Aid Fund. Click here to see photos from the evening.
OCTOBER 26, 2019 - WEST COAST ALUMNI REUNION
The PCS Alumni Association Council hosted several generations of alumni on the West Coast to celebrate Dr. James Dawson's 25 years as Head of School. This casual evening at Ceremony Bar in Studio City, CA featured an open bar, passed tapas, and plenty of opportunities to catch up and make new friends. $10 from each ticket sale went toward The Dr. James Dawson Fund for Financial Aid, the focal point of his 25th anniversary year.
JUNE 13, 2019 - CLASS OF 2019 COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
We are proud to welcome the newest members of our alumni community--the Class of 2019! The 103rd PCS Commencement Ceremony was held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center in Manhattan. APRIL 29, 2019 - SPRING GALA
Thanks to our guests and supporters, this year's Spring Gala was our most successful to date! The PCS community's generosity through ticket sales and sponsorships contributed nearly $250,000 in support of the Financial Aid Fund, which set a new fundraising record for the school. We especially thank our entire Host Committee and Honorary Chairs Michele and Tim Barakett for starting us off on the path to success. This year, 37% of our qualified, deserving students are receiving financial aid in order to attend PCS.
This year's Spring Gala was held at The Edison Ballroom in midtown Manhattan. The evening featured presentations of the PCS Legacy Award to: Jack Antonoff '02, Anne Ausubel and Tanya Rivero Warren (née Gingerich) '89. Guests also enjoyed a moving student performance piece, A Place for Us, which portrayed the history of PCS through spoken word and music. The production was directed by Vincent Sagona, with musical direction by Luke McGinnis.

DECEMBER 18, 2018 - PCS ALUMNI HOLIDAY GATHERING
PCS held its 2nd annual holiday event at the school for everyone in our alumni community. Alumni from several generations chatted over snacks and festive beverages, spreading holiday cheer to one another. All proceeds from this event's ticket sales went toward the Alumni Financial Aid Fund.

MAY 31, 2018 - We celebrated PAUL CHALMERS and ROBERTA KOSSE, who both retired from PCS at the end of the 2017-2018 school year after more than three decades of service each. The evening welcomed faculty, alumni, parents and many more from our community as we honored our own with musical and video tributes and much more. Check out a few photos from the evening HERE.
APRIL 23, 2018 - 2018 SPRING GALA
PCS held its annual fundraising event at The Edison Ballroom in midtown Manhattan this past Spring. We're pleased to announce that this special evening raised over $168,000 for the Financial Aid Fund from ticket and donation proceeds, as well as early support from our Host Committee. 186 attendees made up of parents, alumni, students, friends, and family joined us for one of our most successful events in recent history. The evening honored three distinguished alumni with the Legacy Award. This year's award recipients were Marcia Lynn Sells, Esq. '77, Alex Wolff '16 and Nat Wolff '13.
Guests also enjoyed the performance piece "This is the Moment: The Life of an Artist", performed by twenty of our current students with direction by PCS drama teacher, Vincent Sagona, musical direction by Luke McGinnis and choreography by Sheri Moore Nikitas. DECEMBER 19, 2017 - ALUMNI HOLIDAY GATHERING
Professional Children's School hosted our first Holiday Gathering, in lieu of the annual Return Day Luncheon, as a way for alumni from every generation to catch up and pass along holiday wishes to their classmates. In the spirit of the season of giving, attendees each donated $5 "admission" to the Alumni Financial Aid Fund, which helps to enable students who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend PCS.
