Technology

I believe innovation and imagination should be part of every educational process to facilitate learning that engages with real world problems. In classrooms where teachers engage students, we often see refined students with key understanding of social responsibility, creative thinking and awareness of their surroundings.

In today’s world, technology has impacted every facet of life and education is no exception.  Professional Children’s School has provided remote learning since its founding in 1914, but technology has profoundly changed the landscape of education.   Remote students are able to join and be part of in-person classes as educators now provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning.  Opportunities for learning and collaboration have expanded beyond the walls of the classroom.

At PCS, we remained committed to these values of enabling our students to go beyond the walls of our school. Our focus is to make sure students reach their goals, pursue their interests and be cognizant of the world they live in.

TECHNOLOGY VISION STATEMENT

PCS aspires to be a school whose program enables students to learn in part through online exchange of ideas, content and instruction. This opportunity offers an enhanced classroom-centered experience as well as an element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace of learning. This ensures our students’ ability to pursue professional and pre-professional endeavors that remove them from the physical classroom and to continue to learn while they are away without losing connection to the teacher, the students, or the coursework.
