Welcome to the Gladys Brooks Library Media Center

Located on the 7th floor, the Library Media Center is a warm and inviting place where students can spend their free time working alone or in groups on assignments, researching, studying, reading, or simply relaxing in a comfortable library setting. The library welcomes all members of the PCS Community throughout the school day, as well as before and after school.
The aim of the Library Media Center is to support teachers and students by:
- Providing resources that extend and enhance classroom curriculum and learning
- Fostering the development of skills necessary to effectively access, evaluate, and use information from all media resources available
- Encouraging outside, recreational reading
Resources & Services
The Library Media Center offers an extensive collection of print and non-print resources for both students and teachers including: books and audio-books for both curricular and recreational reading, magazines, newspapers, textbooks, video tapes, DVDs, and electronic databases. All electronic databases can be accessed by the PCS Community via the library website, from both school and at home.
Six computer workstations are available for student use. In addition, wireless Internet access allows students to bring and work on their own laptops. All students, including wireless users, can print out their work in the library. A copy machine is available for student use.
The conference room, equipped with a flat-screen television, smartboard, and digital projector, is often used to view audio-visual materials as well as to provide class instruction. Teachers schedule classes and collaborate with the Media Specialist to assist in teaching research units, identifying and locating information resources, and assisting with new technologies.
Circulation
Books and audio-visual materials are available to all members of the PCS community for borrowing. Items may be borrowed for three weeks and may be renewed by contacting the librarian.
